Nikšić, March 25–27, 2026

At the invitation of the lead partner of the SteelCityZen project, the Municipality of Dunaújváros in Hungary, we attended a partner meeting where we presented the international initiative New European Bauhaus on the Danube as well as the achievements and experiences of the NONA – New Governance for New Spaces project. Particular emphasis was placed on the results of work carried out in ten cities and regions, where over the past two years we have established cooperation with investors to implement development projects for the revitalisation of degraded areas.

The SteelCityZen project continues the development of the Old Ironworks in Ravne na Koroškem towards a modern hub for networking, the development of new business and creative initiatives, and the creation of employment opportunities. The project connects nine steel cities in the Danube region, with the Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem participating as a partner in Slovenia.

The event also provided an important opportunity to strengthen partnerships and establish new connections for the further development of the Old Ironworks programme. The first joint business initiatives within the partnership are planned for this year.
