Zdravko Kozinc joined the economic and political delegation to Shanghai and Hong Kong as part of the Managers’ Association of Slovenia. The delegation was led by Marko Lotrič, President of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia.
Shanghai, China’s industrial and technological powerhouse, and Hong Kong, one of the world’s key financial hubs, offer numerous opportunities for new connections and collaborations while recognising Slovenia as an important gateway to Europe.
Zdravko Kozinc highlighted: “The visit to Shanghai and participation in the international import expo were an extraordinary experience. In just two days, deals worth 500 billion were concluded at the fair, and futuristic development concepts were presented – such as operational air-taxi systems by 2030 and advanced surveillance and facial biometric recognition technologies that have already become standard.
At the same time, it was inspiring to see how official representatives of the city and Chinese government institutions receive foreign delegations with great respect and a deep understanding of cultural integration, which forms an integral part of their business and development model. A representative of the City of Shanghai emphasized that it is essential to understand what once made China great and to transform that understanding into a competitive development model for the future.
The words and concepts we heard open up opportunities for building connections, finding common ground, and collaborating. Slovenia is not starting from scratch – our representatives have historically been well-known in China, such as Hallerstein – and we believe the number of collaborations will only grow in the future.
The visit thus reaffirmed the importance of building bridges between nations, innovative thinking, and sustainable cooperation, all of which can further strengthen Slovenia’s position as a reliable partner in the international economic arena.”
