NONA Project Partner Meeting Focused Mainly on Investments
Cluj, 28–29 January 2026
Representatives of the Iskriva Institute, Zdravko Kozinc and Mateja Softić, attended the NONA project partner meeting in Cluj, Romania. The project is gradually entering its final phase. The meeting focused on reviewing the work completed so far, coordinating final activities, and, most importantly, presenting concrete proposals for new investments in the revitalization of degraded areas.
Special attention was given to investment projects developed by partners within the framework of the project, which will be presented to potential investors this spring at the first NONA International Investment Forum. The forum will be an important milestone for the project, providing an opportunity to connect public and private stakeholders and to explore sustainable financial solutions for the regeneration of degraded areas.
The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange experiences, best practices, and new knowledge among international partners. The Iskriva Institute presented progress on the pilot revitalization project of the Old Ironworks in Ravne na Koroškem, which it leads in cooperation with the Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem. The pilot project serves as a concrete example of how engaging various stakeholders, applying strategic thinking, and using innovative approaches can create foundations for the long-term development of a place.
The program also included specialized training, “How to Pitch – Training for Pitching for Green Investment Funding of Degraded Areas”, led by Cristiana Bogateanu. The workshop focused on effectively presenting projects in the field of green investment and adapting messages to the needs of investors, which will be crucial for the next steps of the NONA project.
The partner meeting once again confirmed the importance of international collaboration, knowledge transfer, and jointly seeking solutions for the sustainable revitalization of degraded areas across Europe.
