Iskriva Institute Presented Accessible Tourism in the Brda Region Within the Framework of the Cross-Re-Tour Project in Malta

Malta, April 20.—22., 2026

Iskriva Institute and its partner company Natura Mistika attended the international meeting of the Cross-Re-Tour project in Malta, where partners from several European countries presented innovative approaches to sustainable and digital tourism development.

The project, co-financed by the European Union, brings together tourism organisations and experts with the aim of fostering the green and digital transition in the tourism sector, as well as developing inclusive and accessible tourism products.

Within the meeting, Iskriva Institute highlighted accessible tourism in Slovenia, with a special focus on the Brda destination, which is increasingly recognised as a model of inclusive, sustainable, and experience-based tourism. The presentation also builds on the Accessible Slovenia initiative, which emphasises tailored tourism experiences for different groups of visitors, as well as the importance of a personal approach and well-designed experiences.

Brda is presented as an example of good practice, where accessibility is combined with authentic local experiences, from wine stories and gastronomy to natural and cultural heritage. Particular emphasis is placed on products that enable visitors to explore the destination in an inclusive way, while connecting local offerings into coherent and tailored tourism experiences.

Participation in the Cross-Re-Tour event in Malta represents an important opportunity to exchange good practices with European partners and to further promote Slovenia as a destination that is developing accessible, sustainable, and high-quality tourism for the future.
