In recent months, Iskriva Institute has been actively engaged within the framework of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) at multiple European levels, from expert discussions to the co-creation of new approaches to financing and project development that bring NEB principles into practice. Our work connects a range of fields, from spatial development and culture to innovation and finance, while contributing to European processes that support more inclusive and sustainable approaches to shaping our environment.
We are among the initiators and coordinators of the New European Bauhaus Danube initiative, which aims to stimulate the green economy, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and develop capacities for a green and just transition.
NEB in practice: Mateja Softić participates in an expert workshop on integrating NEB principles into development, infrastructure, and cohesion projects
At an expert workshop organised by the Centre for Creativity, the Museum of Architecture and Design, and national partners, Mateja Softić, co-founder of Iskriva Institute, presented practical approaches to integrating New European Bauhaus principles into development, infrastructure, and cohesion projects. The focus was on translating NEB guidelines into concrete project and decision-making processes, and on using them as a tool for higher-quality spatial development.
NEB Festival in Brussels and the D Dance Alliance project
From 9 to 13 June 2026, the NEB Festival will take place in Brussels, one of the key European events dedicated to sustainable and inclusive spatial design. The D Dance Alliance project will also be featured at the festival, connecting contemporary dance with architecture, technology, and local environments, and positioning it within a broader European context of cultural and societal dialogue. The presentation is scheduled for 12 June 2026 at 14:45.
More information about the programme, the festival, and related events is available here.
NEB Funding Hub: contributing to a European financing platform
An important milestone is also the invitation for Iskriva Institute to join the NEB Funding Hub Sounding Board of the European Commission, where we will contribute to shaping a new European platform supporting financing of NEB projects, an opportunity we are particularly proud of.
